home sweet home. I'm so tired today, maybe it was the 2 hour drive that should have taken me 40 minutes. Maybe it's the lack of sleep. shrug 19 mins ago

Ohgodsobusy

I’m not dead, i swear.

I know I haven’t really posted this week, and I have a legit reason this time!

A while ago I was asked to build a website. I won’t explain what it’s about quite yet, as I’m still building the theme for the thing, which has been an adventure. I always forget how finicky PHP is, and then I start coding in it for something and I want to shoot myself in the head. It dies when you don’t think it would, and then works when by all logic it shouldn’t. Joy oh joy.

I’ll give a quick rundown of what’s been going on, and I’ll try and get some reviews out this weekend between coding stints.

I’ll give a quick rundown of what’s been going on, and I’ll try and get some reviews out this weekend between coding stints.

  1. Spent the weekend in North Bay with Theresa. I took Monday off and got myself a well-deserved long weekend. Last time I’ll have to drive up there too, so I’m glad for that. I love visiting Theresa, but that drive is boring after the first time. Thankfully I had Doctor Who audios to get me through it all! I listened to “Minuet in Hell“, “Living Legend”, and “…ish” all of which I recommend.
  2. I’m helping Bart with a project of his that is super hush-hush at the moment. It’s a fantastic idea and should look really good in my portfolio.
  3. Working on a website for Theresas friend. I’ve shown a couple people the in-progress, but I’ll wait before I link it here. It’ll be my first attempt at theming Wordpress. The best part is that he doesn’t want it to look like a blog (it isn’t, so that’s fair). It’s probably going to get a re-design as soon as it’s released, but he wants it up ASAP so the theme’s in a 0.5 sort of stage at the moment. It’s a fun learning curve to be sure.
  4. Real-life work continues status quo. Shocking lack of overtime this month. Knock on wood.
  5. Started sketching again. Slowly I’ll get it back.
  6. Downloaded the new Sam & Max. I’m really looking forward to playing it, what with it being the finale to the season and all. All I need is some time to sit down and play it.
  7. Finished Professor Layton and the Curious Village. All 135 puzzles too. Damn that game and it’s evil hold on me. Damn my inability to put a puzzle down. I tend to obsess over things like that.
  8. Currently reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, which is a great read. Utterly different than I was expecting.
  9. I’ve been sick for the past 3-4 weeks and I finally broke down and went to the doctors. Now I’m taking antibiotics. I think my body has a serious problem fighting sinus infections.

That about covers it this week. Sorry it’s a total sell-out post people, but I’m a busy little bitch. I’ll try and slip in a couple bonus posts next week to make up for this week.
